Welcome to the NEW YORK WIC Cardholder Website
Your household's WIC food benefits may be issued for up to 3 months at a time and may be extended when you visit the WIC clinic for your next appointment. You can only use your WIC EBT Card at a store that has been approved to accept the WIC EBT Card. Ask your WIC clinic for a list of approved stores.
While up to 3 months of WIC food benefits may be authorized on your WIC EBT Card at a time, each monthly allotment must be used within a specific period of time. Any benefits not used by midnight on the last day of the monthly period expire and do not roll-over to the next month. You may use your WIC EBT Card as often as you like throughout the month. The WIC Shopping List that you received at the WIC clinic or the last store cash register receipt you received details the dates, amounts, and specific types and remaining balances of foods that may be purchased.
You can get your current WIC food balance by checking your last store receipt, using the balance inquiry terminal at an authorized WIC store, logging in to this portal, or by calling the Customer Service number on the back of your WIC EBT card.

Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) and the Connect WIC Card
|
WIC EBT makes buying your WIC foods easy. With the Connect WIC card, your family will have a long list of brands, flavors and package sized to choose from. And, you can buy your WIC foods anytime during the month.
|
You will use your Connect WIC card to buy WIC approved foods at grocery stores that display the "We Accept" sign which shows an image of the Connect WIC card.
|
Your WIC food benefits will be automatically deposited in your account on the first of each month that you or your children are enrolled. To keep your WIC benefits current and your WIC card active, connect with WIC twice a year for appointments. Between appointments, choose nutrition education activities, online learning or in person counseling, including breastfeeding support.
|
You can get your food balance by checking your last store receipt, using the balance inquiry terminal at the store, at the Current and Future Balance tab on this website, or calling Customer Service at 1-844-540-3013.
|
PIN stands for Personal Identification Number. You must have a 4-digit PIN to use your WIC EBT card. Choose a PIN that is easy for you to remember but hard for someone else to guess. For example, don't use your birth date. Never tell anyone else, including a grocery store cashier, your secret PIN. Never write your PIN on your WIC EBT card. DO NOT write your PIN on anything you carry in your wallet or purse.
|
Your PIN can only be set through the Cardholder Customer Service toll free at 1-844-540-3013. For security reasons your local WIC clinic staff cannot set your PIN for you.
|
A lost or stolen WIC EBT card should be reported immediately to prevent an unauthorized person from using the card. You can report your WIC EBT card as lost, stolen or damaged through the customer portal, through the Cardholder Customer Service toll free at 1-844-540-3013, or at your local WIC clinic. You will need to visit your local WIC clinic to get a replacement card.
|
If your WIC EBT card is lost or stolen, call Cardholder Customer Service toll free at 1-844-540-3013 immediately. Your benefits will be protected as soon as you report your card is lost or stolen. A new card with your remaining benefits must be issued at your local WIC clinic. You will be able to use your remaining benefits with the new card once you have activated it by selecting a new PIN number When entering your PIN to make a purchase, be sure no one else can see what number you are entering. If someone learns your PIN and uses your WIC EBT card and PIN to purchase your benefits, these benefits will not be replaced. If you think someone else has learned your PIN, call Cardholder Customer Service toll free at 1-844-540-3013 immediately to choose a new PIN. Your WIC EBT card and benefits will not change.

Use the WIC Program Booklet and the WIC Shopping List that your WIC clinic gave you to plan and shop with your WIC EBT card. The WIC Program Booklet includes information on what foods and brands are WIC approved and the Shopping List indicates the specific types and quantities of WIC foods that have been authorized for your household and the dates that those benefits must be used by. Remember that any unused benefits are lost if not used by midnight of the benefit end date. - Many stores will not require you to separate your WIC items from the non-WIC items you are purchasing at the same time. However, it is suggested that you continue to separate the WIC foods you are purchasing with your WIC EBT Card from the other items you are purchasing. This avoids confusion and will allow you to easily determine if the food items you have selected are WIC approved and authorized for your household. Some WIC stores that do not have registers with built in scanners may require you to separate the WIC items.
- Give the cashier any coupons and your store loyalty card if you have one.
- Once all of your WIC items have been scanned and totalled, use the WIC EBT card as your FIRST form of payment.
- SWIPE your WIC EBT card and follow the directions on the card reader.
- Enter your 4-digit PIN on the keypad and press the OK or ENTER key.
- If there are any items that you are buying that are not authorized for WIC or not part of your authorized food benefit, you will need to purchase them using another type of payment.
- Some stores may ask you to separate your WIC items from your other items and pay with your WIC EBT Card separately.
When you receive your cash register receipt, make sure the information on the receipt is correct. The receipt will show what your beginning balances for each authorized food item was, what was deducted this purchase, and what is remaining, if any. Save your receipt so you will know your remaining WIC balance the next time you shop. Unused benefits on the last day of use do not carry over to the next month. If you lose your receipt, you may check your remaining balance by calling the Cardholder Customer Service toll free at 1-844-540-3013 or by visiting www.wicconnect.com. Some stores may also be able to check your balance at the store's customer service desk.
|
- Remember that the WIC foods you purchase with your WIC EBT card are intended only for those members of your household that are certified for WIC and not for anyone else. Selling, trading or giving away your WIC food benefits, PIN, or your WIC EBT card is not what you agreed to when you started receiving WIC services. This includes selling or trading food or formula on social media, such as Facebook, Craigslist, Ebay, community garage sales, or other similar places.
- Returning or exchanging your WIC foods for unapproved food items, credit or cash places the store and you in a difficult situation. This also includes allowing a store cashier or anyone else to buy your food benefits or to use your WIC EBT card in exchange for cash. Using someone else's WIC food benefits or WIC EBT card must also not be attempted.
- Sanctions or legal actions do happen for clients that choose not to follow their WIC responsibilities.
